Especially today, war is presented as a controllable instrument to which there is apparently no alternative. Artists who advocate the confrontation of free thought and other points of view are defamed or hushed up.
MANIFESTOS FOR PEACE
28 renowned artists take a public stand with manifestos for peace, creating 28 unique artworks in the form of posters that are made available to the public free of charge. “Peace Now! – The Artist’s Voice” is an exceptional art initiative for peace. |

Glowing and spontaneous declaration of Peace
More than 200 artists and art aficionados from L.A., New York, Rome, Berlin, Vienna, and many parts of Austria flocked to the exhibition hall (Trinkhalle) in the remote town of Bad Ischl, about an hour's drive from Salzburg.
They enthusiastically brought countless “Peace Bulbs” to life, glowing with excitement. Peter Noever, the creator of this unique exhibition, together with his exhibition team, developed a 14-meter-long (45 feet) electric metal grid structure. Proceeds from the “Peace Bulbs” will benefit the renowned peace research institute, Austrian Center for Peace, based in Schlaining and Vienna. The 12-volt (Edison) “Peace Bulb” lights up when placed in the “Peace Bulb Line.”
The exhibition hall was transformed into a sea of lights on the very first evening of the event, marking the opening of “PEACE NOW!” at the European Capital of Culture 2024.
Due to the extensive programming of the Cultural Capital 2024 events, considerable effort was required to bring this international art event to life with leading and respected artists. Peter Noever expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to PEACE NOW!, especially the outstanding exhibition team of architects and designers who made it possible:
